From the beginning of my adventure, I have been impressed by Queens Medical's services. Great secretary Mrs. Mary Miller who arranged all my visits in detail, including covid tests and travels. My English is not great, but this Lady will reach everyone. After visiting Mr. White, all stress and fear were forgotten. He showed me the results and explained everything so that I could understand it and how he can help me in this situation. After 2 weeks it was over. He removed all my Ependymoma tumor from L3. The pain in my leg that had been with me for a very long time ... it just disappeared. I am already after the first control Mri. And I must say that rehabilitation is going in the right direction. I know I will need more spine surgery in the future for additional problems like spondylolisthesis, but for now Mr. White saved me from the excruciating pain I was living with. For which I thank him very much and I hope that on my way I will meet such specialists by vocation! ;)) Also, thanks to the rest of the team for the nice atmosphere and the nurse from Poland who watched over me and helped me take the first step :) I recommend it Mr Barrie White with all my heart...

I had craniocervical decompression surgery November 2021. Mr White and his team and all the staff related to my care both before and after my op were absolutely fantastic. Mr white is very caring and always listened to myself and my husband with any concerns or questions we had. On the day of the operation Mr white rang my husband to tell him all was fine as promised. He also visited me on the ward to let me know all was well and that he’d spoken to hubby. I honestly cannot thank Mr white and Dr Giavassi(neurologist) and the staff at Notts Qmc enough.

Six years ago I was admitted to the QMC for emergency surgery for an erupted disc in my back. Mr White and his team performed the operation which was a great success. Unfortunately however a further problem arose at a different position on my back and having been referred once again to Mr White I was admitted to the QMC on 8th September 2021. The subsequent surgery proved a further great success and I am now able to walk pain free. I cannot thank Mr White and his team enough for their expertise and care in both of the circumstances and Mr White in particular for his personal attention to all my needs and any concerns that I may have had. Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a cervical intradural spinal cord tumour (C2 to T2). I was referred to Barrie White by another neurosurgeon who recommended him highly. From my very first consultation, I felt reassured that I was entrusting my future in the hands of a surgeon who has true passion for achieving excellence and decades of experience. I had Laminectomy surgery in mid September and it was a success! The latest MRI scans show no signs of the tumour. If you are reading this review because you have a similar diagnosis, let me be clear - Barrie White is undoubtedly a master of his profession. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Into my 63rd year, never had time for illness, I was fit, in reasonable shape , had a positive outlook, a happy stable family life and was then diagnosed with a lumbar schwannoma. My world came crashing down. That was until I was referred to Mr Barrie White . From the first time myself and my wife were introduced to him, to when I was discharged , Mr White gave us the confidence, the reassurance, the belief and the trust that the operation would be a success. It was! What a man! I owe him so much. The staff at QMC were superb and if pressed on any area of improvement, it would be with the food offering.Maybe we could encourage Mr White to become involved in hospital catering! My sincere thanks to a great man, his team and the NHS. Life is good.X Martin Cuthbert.
